Tom Schaar claims 3rd in this years Bowl-A-Rama!

The General Pants Bowl a Rama kicked off for another epic year at iconic Bondi beach on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of February. Bowl skaters from all over the world competed for the renowned bowl belt title and winners check of 15k!

Aussie sunshine, humans by the hundreds and hot 32 degree days bought the famous Bondi crowds to support the next generation of Bowl skaters; one of which was recently announced Element Pro Tom Schaar!

Forward ever, backward never; Schaar was hungry to win it from the very beginning. The 18-year-old from Cardiff, California came 2nd in his semi final heat on his new Element Pro board to qualify into the pro finals on day two of the event.

`Bowl a Rama is such a rad contest, everyone goes and all the legends make it to the contest too. The bowl is so fun and it's in the best spot. I'm just stoked to go down to Australia,’ said Schaar.

`Turning pro was a huge honor for me and I was really stoked on how all the art came out for the boards, I think I looks sick! It's was crazy seeing people down there at the bowl riding my boards too’ he said.

The talent over the weekend from juniors to masters was sensational! With three smooth final combination runs, Schaar threw down his big classic 540s, floaty backside and an array of lip tricks to place 3rd overall after Jonathan Schwan 2nd and winner young gun Keegan Palmer as 1st.

`I was stoked on getting 3rd, everyone killed it down there and I'm trying to learn more lip tricks for upcoming contests. I'm going back to Australia in October for X games. [But for now] I got the air and style contest coming up next in LA which should be a fun!’
